Octopus Energy has launched its new Nook home battery range, targeting households across the UK and Europe. The Nook Cube, a compact 2kWh plug-in battery, is designed for renters and can be scaled up to 10.5kWh via the Octopus app.
Homeowners can opt for the Nook Colossus, a wall-mounted system available in 5kWh and 10kWh configurations. This model can be expanded to a maximum of 30kWh, positioning it as a competitor to existing market leaders.
Both Nook systems are compatible with solar panels and include a 12-year warranty. Sales are slated to begin in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain next year, with expected availability in 2027.
These batteries store energy during off-peak hours for use during more expensive periods. Octopus Energy suggests pairing Nook systems with their smart tariffs can maximize savings, building on their record of helping customers save approximately £1 billion on energy costs.
