Nvidia Driver Bug: Fan Control Fails on Latest Release
27 Feb
Summary
- Nvidia has rolled back its latest Game Ready driver.
- The driver 595.59 had issues with GPU fan control.
- Users are advised to revert to driver version 591.86.

Nvidia has issued a rollback for its most recent Game Ready and Studio driver, version 595.59 WHQL, due to significant technical problems. The update, released yesterday, contained specific optimizations for anticipated games like Resident Evil Requiem and Marathon. However, the driver introduced a critical flaw related to GPU fan control, a vital component for managing the temperatures of high-end graphics cards.
To address this issue, Nvidia is advising all users to revert to the previous stable driver, version 591.86, which was released in January. This can be accomplished through the official Nvidia application or by manually downloading the older version from the company's website. Reports from some users also indicate additional bugs in the 595.59 driver, including problems with boost clocks, HDR functionality, and sleep resume features on certain displays.
