28 Apr
Summary
- Nothing's Warp file-sharing app was removed from the Play Store shortly after launch.
- The app reappeared later but requires manual APK download and installation.
- Warp shares files between Android and computers via Google Drive storage.

Earlier this month, British consumer electronics firm Nothing introduced Warp, a file-sharing utility designed for seamless content transfer. The tool, intended to share files, text, and images from Android phones to computers via a new app and browser extension, was unexpectedly removed from the Google Play Store within hours of its announcement.
After approximately a week, Warp resurfaced, though not on the Play Store. Instead, users are directed to download an APK file directly, with the company noting the app was temporarily withdrawn for fine-tuning. Nothing assured users that the app, built on Google's infrastructure, handles no personal data and poses no security or privacy risks.
Warp functions by utilizing Google Drive storage, enabling file sharing between any Android phone and Windows, macOS, or Linux computers equipped with a Chromium-based browser. This cross-platform capability extends beyond many existing solutions, aiming for a smoother user workflow, as Nothing stated was its original intention.
