Nothing is set to release Essential Voice, a new AI-powered tool exclusively for its modern smartphones. This innovative feature promises to significantly improve voice-to-text transcription by eliminating common speech disfluencies like 'ums' and 'ahs', leading to clearer dictated messages. Users can also request the tool to format spoken content into organized lists or bullet points.
Essential Voice boasts impressive language capabilities, automatically detecting over 100 languages for seamless real-time translation without leaving the current application. Additionally, a new feature called Personal Mappings acts as a voice shortcut, enabling users to assign custom phrases to automatically insert specific information, such as email addresses or addresses.
The feature will first be available on the Nothing Phone 3 and Nothing Phone 4a Pro later this month, with an rollout to the Phone 4a expected in early May. This AI functionality is exclusive to Nothing phones, unlike the brand's Warp file transfer service which was recently taken offline for refinement.
