14 Mar
Summary
- Essential Space now recognizes 'Events' from images.
- The app uses semantic search for easier content discovery.
- The update is available for 2025-2026 Nothing and CMF phones.

Nothing is enhancing its Essential Space AI application, previously launched on the Nothing Phone 3a in 2025. The application transforms screenshots and voice notes into actionable to-do lists and transcriptions. A recent update introduces the ability for Essential Space to recognize and categorize 'Events' from images, extracting crucial details such as date, time, and location. These recognized events are displayed in a dedicated card format.
The app's interface has been redesigned with a new 'For You' page, which prominently features categorized content like Tasks and Events. This aims to streamline user interaction and information retrieval. Furthermore, Essential Space now supports semantic search, enabling users to find content not just by exact text matches but by understanding the intent and meaning of their search queries. This advanced search capability is particularly beneficial for locating images based on descriptive text.
The update is rolling out starting today, March 14, 2026, to all 2025-2026 Nothing and CMF phones equipped with Essential Key. Users can expect the app to update automatically or can initiate a manual update via the Google Play Store.
