Nikon has released the Z5II, an updated version of its popular entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera. This new model incorporates advanced video features and autofocus subject detection, similar to Nikon's higher-end cameras, allowing it to detect subjects like birds. Additional enhancements include prerelease capture and support for the HEIF image format.
The Z5II features a 24-megapixel sensor, the same one found in the Nikon Zf and Z6 II, which contributes to its improved video performance. Despite these upgrades, the camera maintains a strong value proposition for photographers seeking capable features without unnecessary complexity.
This latest iteration sees a price increase of $500 compared to the original Z5, a change attributed to its enhanced specifications and factoring in tariffs. Nevertheless, the Z5II is presented as a highly capable and worthwhile investment for enthusiasts and professionals alike.
