Motorola has unveiled its latest foldable, the Moto Razr Fold, at Mobile World Congress, building on its CES announcement. This book-style foldable phone impressed with its thin and sturdy design, measuring 0.2 inches when open and featuring IP48 and IP49 ratings for water and dust resistance. The device will compete directly with Samsung and Google's foldable offerings, although its release date and pricing remain undisclosed.
The Razr Fold features two stunning displays: a 6.6-inch pOLED front screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and 6,000 nits peak brightness, and an 8.1-inch LTPO inner screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 6,200 nits peak brightness. Notably, the inner screen's crease is nearly invisible at maximum brightness. The phone also supports the Motorola Pen Ultra on both screens, offering a seamless writing experience.
The camera system is a significant highlight, featuring a 50MP Sony Lytia main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Motorola claims its camera system is ranked highly by DXOMark. Early impressions suggest exceptional image quality, with crisp details and natural colors that even surpassed a competitor's flagship foldable.
Performance is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The device also packs a substantial 6,000mAh battery, supporting 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. This offers a considerable advantage over competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which has a smaller battery and slower charging speeds.
