22 Jul
Summary
- New tablet features nine JBL-tuned speakers: four tweeters, three woofers, two radiators.
- Tablet boasts a 12.1-inch 2.5K display with Dolby Vision and a 48W max output.
- Similar to Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2, also featuring the same speaker system.

Motorola has launched the Pad 70 Groove in India, a mid-range Android tablet distinguished by its nine JBL-tuned speakers. This audio setup includes four tweeters, three woofers, and two passive radiators integrated into the back grille.
The tablet sports a 12.1-inch 2.5K display enhanced with Dolby Vision, alongside a maximum audio output of 48W. A built-in kickstand allows for adjustable speaker positioning, targeting users for movie streaming and music playback.
This device shares a striking resemblance to the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2, which is already available for $399 / £369 (about AU$700). Both tablets feature the same speaker system and design elements, a similarity attributed to Lenovo's ownership of Motorola.
While the high speaker count promises robust sound, the practicality for commuters or everyday use as a slate remains questionable. Experts suggest that dedicated Bluetooth speakers may still offer superior audio quality and stereo separation compared to integrated tablet systems.
