The MG HS Plug-in Hybrid has achieved the distinction of being named the UK's top plug-in hybrid vehicle. This recognition highlights its exceptional electric-only range, extending beyond 68 miles, and its commendable fuel efficiency. This performance was noted by AutoExpress, outshining six rivals despite a smaller battery pack.
Launched in September 2024, the MG HS Plug-in Hybrid combines a 1.5-litre engine with a 23.2kWh battery. It is also the most affordable among the top five plug-in hybrids, retailing at £32,495. The vehicle has proven popular, with over 8,000 units delivered in 2025.
In other rankings, the Volkswagen Tayron secured second place, praised for its consistent performance in both EV range and hybrid efficiency, offering 58 miles of electric-only range. The Honda CR-V, BMW X3, and Range Rover Sport completed the top five.
