Mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi brought the app to public attention, though it has been available on both iOS and Android platforms since June 29, according to AppFigures. Access to Pocket is currently limited, with Meta stating it is 'not yet available everywhere.'

The company has not yet made any official announcements regarding Pocket's rollout or the specific regions where it is being tested. This move aligns with Meta's recent aggressive integration of artificial intelligence across its services. It is speculated that Pocket may be a product of Meta's earlier acquisition of the team behind Gizmo, an app that used AI to generate interactive content based on user prompts. The app's description as 'a creative platform for making and sharing gizmos' and its Google Play Store shortcode 'com.facebook.gizmo' further support this connection.
