The new Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses, a separate development, are engineered to prioritize audio features, removing the camera to reduce cost, weight, and battery consumption. This move addresses privacy concerns and enhances user comfort. Meta has also reinforced its policies and tamper detection for its camera-equipped glasses, ensuring user safety and privacy.

These compact VR glasses achieve their size by offloading computing power to a pocketable puck, allowing for active cooling and improved performance. While not an immediate replacement for smartphones, they are positioned as a strong competitor to laptops, offering advanced AI integration and productivity features like touch typing on a virtual keyboard.
