Summary
- The smart glasses offer real-time translations and AI descriptions.
- They feature a 600 x 600 pixel display visible even in bright light.
- At $800, they are Meta's most expensive smart glasses to date.

Meta's latest smart glasses, the Ray-Ban Displays, priced at $800, integrate a 600x600 pixel display for augmented reality features.
These glasses allow for real-time language translation and AI-powered visual descriptions, visible directly on the display. The interface is navigable via a Neural Band that translates wrist gestures.
While the glasses offer features like live captions and two-way video calling, their functionality is largely confined to Meta's ecosystem. Battery life is a concern, with the glasses lasting around 6 hours, though a charging case provides additional power.
Navigation with the Neural Band requires practice, and some users experienced intermittent connection issues. The AI can identify objects with reasonable accuracy but struggles with specific car models. Translation accuracy can also be imperfect, particularly with fast speech.
Limitations include restricted third-party app integrations and a limited rollout of navigation features to 23 U.S. cities and select international locations, primarily for walking directions. Future competition from Google and Amazon is anticipated.
