Meta has launched Muse, a personal AI agent designed to automate digital tasks within a secure cloud environment. This new agent is available on iOS and Android via a dedicated app and website, Muse.ai, and can also be messaged directly within WhatsApp. Future integration with Meta's AI glasses is also planned.
Muse aims to simplify everyday internet navigation and task management, allowing users to prompt the AI in natural language. It can autonomously handle tasks such as sending emails, booking travel, and even making purchases, supported by Stripe's secure payment infrastructure.
The agent debuts with a Secure VM architecture, intended to isolate user activity and protect sensitive data. Meta is focusing on security and privacy to build user trust, a significant challenge for the company. A 'Sentinel' system monitors data movement, requiring user approval for unapproved actions.
Meta also plans to offer 'Confidential VM,' which will run on trusted execution environments with user-managed access keys, preventing even Meta from accessing user data. This advanced privacy feature is developed in collaboration with Moxie Marlinspike, creator of Signal.
