Mecool has launched the MEon1 4K GTV Streaming Box, a new addition to its streaming device lineup. This box supports 4K HDR content with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and can upscale HD video to near-4K quality. It comes with 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB, alongside dual USB 2.0 ports.
The device operates on Android 14 and is Netflix 4K-certified, offering access to Google Assistant, Google Cast, and a vast library of third-party apps. Networking includes Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet, complemented by Bluetooth 5.2. Video codecs supported are AV1, VP9, H.264, and H.265 (HEVC), ensuring broad compatibility.
Under the hood, the MEon1 features a 2.5GHz quad-core Amlogic S905X5M processor and a Mali G310 V2 GPU, paired with 2GB of RAM. This configuration is faster than the Google TV Streamer 4K's processor. The HDMI 2.1 output supports VRR and ALLM, enhancing gaming experiences.
While priced at $119.99, it competes with the Google TV Streamer 4K, which is often available at a lower price. The Google device offers more RAM but uses an older Wi-Fi standard. The Mecool MEon1 is available now.
