Matic Serene: Robot Vacuum Quieter Than Your Fridge?

Matic has unveiled its latest robotic floor cleaner, the Serene, designed for extreme noise sensitivity. Operating at a mere 52 decibels on its highest suction setting, the Serene is marketed as being as quiet as a refrigerator. This significant noise reduction is achieved through a new hardware stack, distinguishing it from many competitors that lower suction power for quieter operation.

The Serene comes with a price of $1,695, representing a $200 increase over the original Matic model. Matic, known for its unique form factor and navigation system, aims to address common robot vacuum issues, with noise being a primary concern. The company has also announced plans to offer existing Matic owners an upgrade path for their current models in early 2027, allowing them to experience the Serene's quiet technology.
