Apple has integrated its PROLED XDR display technology into the latest MacBook Pro models, targeting photographers, artists, and video editors. This new display utilizes tandem OLED technology, similar to that found in the M4 iPad Pro, to enhance performance. It promises significant improvements in brightness and contrast.
The PROLED XDR screens boast up to 2,000 nits peak HDR brightness and an industry-leading 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio. They also offer superior color accuracy, covering wider P3 and Adobe RGB gamuts and reaching 80 percent of the Rec.2020 gamut. This makes them exceptionally suited for HDR video editing and color grading.
Furthermore, a sophisticated display engine manages each pixel's color and luminance in real-time. This technology adapts to environmental factors and also addresses OLED's organic pixel degradation by compensating for pixel age. The new models include Apple's 120Hz ProMotion display and an optional nano-texture glass finish to reduce glare.
