The Lithuanian modular supercar, Rhino RR01, has officially commenced mass production and deliveries, with its first unit dispatched from Kaunas to a customer in the United States. This marks a significant milestone for the car's developers after months of vehicle certification. The inaugural production model features advanced carbon-fibre aerodynamic components, forged wheels, and a sophisticated Formula One-style steering wheel, all designed and programmed in Kaunas.
Manufactured in Lithuania, the Rhino RR01 meets the criteria for being designated a Lithuanian car, as over 51% of its components are produced locally. Specifically, 54% of the parts, including the chassis, suspension, body, glass, and interior elements, are made in Kaunas. This meticulous production process for the first chassis, suspension, and body components took over six months to complete.
While key components like the chassis and body are Lithuanian-made, the supercar integrates technologically complex parts from international suppliers. These include a 5-litre V8 engine from Ford, a Porsche PDK transmission, an AP Racing braking system, and Intrax shock absorbers. The acquisition of VIN numbers for their vehicles is a crucial step, streamlining the registration process for future customers and solidifying the company's status as a certified manufacturer.
