Lidl's New Solar Battery: Power Your Balcony!

Lidl has launched a new solar-powered battery in Germany, designed to complement balcony solar systems. This 2.24kWh battery, priced at €299, offers a 1,000W input and 800W output, providing an affordable option for energy cost reduction.

A version controllable via the Lidl Home app is also available for €399. The battery is compatible with most balcony solar setups, allowing users to store daytime solar energy for evening use.

While the battery itself requires separate solar panels and a microinverter, it serves as a crucial component for energy storage and backup power. Its dimensions (310 × 170 × 350mm) and weight (19.8kg) make it suitable for smaller spaces.

Currently, availability is limited to Europe, but successful adoption could see it roll out to other markets. This launch comes at a time of significant energy price increases, making such solutions increasingly attractive to consumers.
