Android users can now experience more AirPods features thanks to the LibrePods app, which has become available on the Google Play Store. Previously requiring a jailbroken device, LibrePods now works seamlessly on standard Android phones. This advancement was made possible by bug fixes in the Android 16 QPR3 update, which expanded Bluetooth capabilities.
These enhanced Bluetooth features include more accurate battery level reporting, immediate ear detection, and the ability to change listening modes. Notably, Conversational Awareness, which lowers AirPods volume during conversations, is now accessible. While initial compatibility is limited to updated Google Pixel, OnePlus, and Oppo phones, broader support is anticipated with future Android releases, including Android 17.
