24 Aug
Summary
- LG released a native 1000Hz gaming monitor.
- The 24.5-inch IPS display offers a 1ms response time.
- The monitor is available for pre-order at $999.
LG has introduced its UltraGear 25G590B gaming monitor to US customers, featuring a native 1000Hz refresh rate at full HD resolution. This display is positioned as a groundbreaking product for competitive gamers, particularly in first-person shooter titles.
The 24.5-inch monitor utilizes an IPS panel with a 1-millisecond response time. LG claims this high refresh rate provides an advantage by allowing players to "see faster" and "aim sharper," resulting in more fluid motion and reduced motion blur.
However, the practical impact for most gamers remains uncertain, and a powerful GPU will be necessary to leverage the monitor's capabilities. The 25G590B is priced at $999 and is currently listed for pre-order on LG's website, with shipments expected to begin as early as September 3, 2026.
To incentivize early adoption, LG is offering two years of LG Premium Care for $1 and 5% back in MyLG Rewards for pre-orders placed by August 31, 2026. The monitor also includes a built-in FPS counter to help users maximize its performance.
