The company integrated its autonomous flight system into a modified Cessna Caravan. While a safety monitor was onboard, remote supervision was conducted from Joby's headquarters in California and Shaw Air Force Base.
Following its eastbound journey, the autonomous aircraft is slated to return westward, with planned stops in Raleigh, Salt Lake City, and Portland. Beyond this autonomous feat, Joby is also recognized for its electric piloted air taxis, which began demonstrations in New York City in April and are planned for public launch later this year.
