iPhone users gain secret Auracast access via JBL headphones

iPhone users can now experience Auracast broadcasts thanks to a clever workaround offered by JBL's latest headphones. The new JBL Live 780NC headphones not only boast a refreshed design and enhanced Bluetooth connectivity but also grant access to Auracast through a dedicated JBL app. This bypasses Apple's current lack of native Auracast support on iOS devices, which typically requires an Auracast-enabled smartphone.

Unlike other Auracast-enabled devices that rely on smartphone settings, JBL's in-app solution makes the feature accessible to iPhone users. This functionality was previously seen in Sennheiser headphones, but JBL's Live 780NC offer greater versatility with EQ settings and advanced microphones, making them suitable for daily use. The headphones are now available for $250 in a variety of colors, providing a unique entry point into Auracast technology for a significant user base.
