Summary
- New speakers automate isolating song elements like vocals and instruments.
- AI technology works offline, enabling practice anywhere without internet.
- Models range from solo practice to group use with different power and inputs.

JBL has launched the BandBox Solo and Trio, innovative speakers designed to simplify the process of isolating individual sound elements from music tracks. This new Stem AI technology allows users to easily extract vocals, guitar, or drums, enabling them to play or sing along with their favorite songs.
A key advantage is that the Stem AI operates offline, meaning users do not need an internet connection for song processing, making it ideal for practice anywhere. The BandBox Solo is an 18W speaker suited for individual use with one input, while the 135W BandBox Trio is built for group sessions with four inputs and additional controls.
Both battery-powered models include effects like chorus and reverb, alongside amp modeling. The Solo offers up to 6 hours of battery life, whereas the Trio provides up to 10 hours, with a replaceable battery option. Pre-orders for the BandBox Solo ($250) and BandBox Trio ($600) began on January 26, 2026, with shipping and retail availability starting March 1, 2026.
