Jaipur's Traffic Eyes: No Escaping Challans!

Jaipur has introduced Rajasthan's first real-time traffic awareness screen system, enhancing road safety and compliance with traffic regulations. This initiative employs Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at key intersections to scan vehicle registration numbers.

The system instantaneously checks for pending traffic challans, expired insurance, and invalid pollution certificates against national transport databases. Violating vehicles are flagged, with their details potentially appearing on large LED displays within seconds, making drivers immediately aware of any infractions.

Alerts are also sent to traffic police personnel at checkpoints, enabling them to stop vehicles and inform drivers. The initiative seeks to encourage resolution of dues and document updates, moving beyond mere enforcement. Even compliant drivers are acknowledged to promote responsible behavior.

A dedicated control room monitors the entire network, processing live feeds and system alerts. This project signifies a significant stride towards smarter traffic management in Jaipur, integrating surveillance, real-time data, and enforcement for improved road safety.
