Summary
- New robot vacuums use SealForce technology for concentrated suction.
- Models feature advanced mopping with heated mist and high-pressure spray.
- Docking stations offer self-cleaning, mop washing, and fluid auto-refill.

iRobot has unveiled its most powerful robot vacuums yet, the Roomba Max 875 Combo and Roomba Plus 678 Combo, available now. The Max 875 Combo utilizes proprietary SealForce technology, which lowers the chassis to create a tight seal against carpet fibers, concentrating "tornado-like airflow" for increased suction power and deeper cleaning. This innovation aims to overcome the power limitations typically found in robot vacuums.
The Max 875 Combo also excels at tackling dried-on stains on hard floors by continuously spraying heated mist as it mops. With its industry-leading roller mop featuring high rotation speed and downward pressure, it promises significantly improved stain removal and scrubbing capabilities. Additionally, advanced AI features for carpet detection and object recognition, along with a self-cleaning docking station, are included.
The Roomba Plus 678 Combo, priced more affordably, incorporates SprayForce AI for high-pressure water cleaning and also features SealForce technology. While it shares many advanced functionalities with the Max 875, such as lidar navigation and AI obstacle avoidance, it uses high-pressure water instead of heated mist for stain treatment. Both models’ docking stations offer comprehensive cleaning, refilling, and self-emptying functions.
