A primary focus for Apple's entry is the persistent issue of screen creases on foldable devices, a challenge that has persisted since the category's inception.

To combat the visible crease, the iPhone Ultra is said to employ a combination of innovative technologies. This includes a liquid metal hinge engineered to distribute stress across the screen during repeated folding. The display itself is rumored to feature dual layers of ultra-thin glass and a variable thickness, being thinner at the center bend and thicker at the edges for durability.

Further addressing the crease, Apple is reportedly utilizing an optically clear adhesive glue designed to remain pliable, filling microscopic gaps that contribute to crease formation over time. While initial reports suggest a crease of less than 0.15mm, long-term durability remains to be tested.
