iPhone AI Features Lawsuit: Payouts Start Soon
14 Jun
Summary
- Customers may receive $25-$95 from a $250 million settlement.
- Lawsuit alleged Apple misled customers about AI features.
- Payouts expected after September 2026 following court approval.

A $250 million class action settlement is underway, offering potential payouts to customers who purchased certain iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 models. The lawsuit alleged that Apple misled consumers by advertising AI features that were not immediately available upon the devices' launch.
Eligible customers, who bought iPhones between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, could receive between $25 and $95 per device. This includes various iPhone 16 models and the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, due to their processing capabilities.
Apple stated it resolved the matter to focus on innovation. While some AI features did roll out with iOS 18.1, the more advanced capabilities highlighted during marketing were delayed.
Customers will be notified by the settlement administrator, Verita, once the process begins after court approval, scheduled for June 17, 2026. The deadline to file a claim will be 90 days after receiving notice.
Expected payouts are slated to begin sometime after September 2026, contingent upon the finalization of legal details and court dates.
