An innovative camera accessory, the RetroVa Vintage Imaging Kit, is now available for iPhones, offering enhanced zoom capabilities. This add-on provides up to 10x native zoom, allowing users to get significantly closer to their subjects. Previously designed for Vivo phones, PGYTech's kit has successfully launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
The campaign has already surpassed its initial $10,000 funding target, accumulating over $60,000. Early supporters can acquire the kit for $184, with a future retail price set at $229.95. The accessory includes a clip-on case with a vintage-inspired bulky grip, aiming to improve phone handling during shoots.
Early reviews of the Vivo version highlighted its ability to produce professional-looking photos and videos comparable to mirrorless cameras. While minor stabilization and autofocus issues were noted, the overall impression was highly positive, likening it to a special, non-gimmicky upgrade. The iPhone version is expected to offer a similar user experience and output quality.
Beyond its zoom lens, the RetroVa kit also features extra physical camera buttons and a microSD card slot for expanded storage. The anticipated shipping date for the completed product is March 2026. This provides ample time for interested individuals to participate in the crowdfunding effort.
