iOS 27 Speed Test: Does Apple's Claim Hold Up?

Apple's new iOS 27, set for release later this year, has been put to the test to verify claims of significant speed improvements. Our real-world testing on iPhone 17 models, comparing iOS 26 against the iOS 27 developer beta, revealed measurable performance gains across various tasks. Core application launches saw notable speedups, with Safari loading 12.5% faster and the Photos app launching 17.9% quicker. The Camera app also received minor optimizations. The most dramatic improvement was observed with Google Maps, which loaded 39.8% faster on iOS 27, exceeding Apple's general claim of 30% faster app launches.
