Summary
- Siri's Camera app feature for analyzing meals and splitting restaurant bills received praise.
- iOS 27's speed improvements noted, but advanced AI features require iPhone 15 Pro or later.
- Updates to Screen Time and Safari's Notify Me feature were seen as smart and helpful.

During a recent viewing of Apple's WWDC 2026 keynote, a 15-year-old provided his perspective on the upcoming iOS 27 and its integrated AI capabilities. His initial reaction to Siri's visual intelligence, particularly its function within the Camera app to identify items and analyze nutritional information, was notable.
His strongest positive response was reserved for a demo showcasing Siri's ability to analyze a restaurant bill and automatically split charges using Apple Cash, a feature even his mother found impressive. This function, however, is exclusive to iPhone 15 Pro models and later.
While his own iPhone 12 will benefit from iOS 27's general speed enhancements—promising 30% faster app launches and 80% faster AirDrop transfers—the teenager expressed mild indifference, suggesting a real-world test would be needed to ascertain the impact.
Surprisingly, updates to Screen Time, focusing on "trust and safety," received a positive nod, with hopes that current bugs will be addressed. The new 'Ask to Browse' feature in Safari also earned a "That's smart" from him.
His parents also found value in new features like Safari's 'Notify Me' for website updates and the Password app's auto-fix for compromised passwords, appreciating the AI-driven convenience.
