Summary
- Intel's Panther Lake mobile processors show impressive integrated graphics.
- New chip graphics nearly match RTX 3050 Ti, far surpassing current Intel.
- Upcoming Intel chips may enable gaming handhelds and lighter gaming laptops.

Intel's next-generation Panther Lake mobile processors are poised to redefine laptop graphics capabilities. Built using Intel's advanced 18A fabrication process, these chips are anticipated to deliver integrated graphics performance that rivals discrete GPUs. Leaked benchmarks from a Samsung Galaxy Book reveal an integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics solution achieving scores close to an RTX 3050 Ti, a substantial improvement over previous generations.
This leap in performance is significant, especially considering the thin-and-light form factor of the tested device. The integrated graphics nearly matched a laptop equipped with an RTX 3050 Ti and significantly outperformed an RTX 3050. In contrast, current Intel integrated Arc graphics achieved much lower scores, highlighting a more than twofold improvement with Panther Lake's Xe3 architecture.
Beyond ultraportable laptops, Intel's Panther Lake chips are also expected to fuel a new wave of gaming handhelds. Reports indicate a dedicated Panther Lake processor for handheld devices, potentially appearing in successors to current models. The official launch of Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 processors is slated for CES, with a wide array of laptops featuring the new chips expected to be showcased.
