Intel has unveiled six new Core Series 3 processors aimed at budget-friendly laptops. These chips leverage the 18A process to deliver advanced performance, extended battery life, and AI-ready capabilities for value-conscious consumers. The series is codenamed "Wildcat Lake" and is positioned as a more affordable alternative to Intel's "Ultra" line.
The flagship Intel Core 7 360 features a six-core CPU with a maximum turbo frequency of 4.8GHz and 17 NPU TOPS for AI tasks. Other options include various Core 7 and Core 5 models, alongside a five-core Core 3 offering with reduced GPU performance. These new processors come with fewer Xe graphics cores and PCIe lanes compared to the Ultra series but support modern features like Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.
Intel projects strong battery life, with the Core 7 350 estimated to last up to 9.6 hours during Zoom calls with AI effects, or significantly longer for general office tasks and video streaming. These chips will debut in over 70 planned products throughout the remainder of the year, with confirmed devices from Acer, Asus, Honor, and HP. Dell, Lenovo, and Samsung are also set to release models featuring these new processors, broadening access to enhanced technology for students, families, and businesses.
