In a significant development for India's technological future, the foundation stone for the nation's inaugural quantum technology valley was laid on February 8, 2026. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the project at Uddandarayunipalem village in the Amaravati capital region.
This ambitious initiative, established in the presence of Union Minister of State for Science & Technology Jitendra Singh, aims to position Amaravati as a global leader in quantum solutions. Chief Minister Naidu expressed confidence that Amaravati will emerge as a key center for quantum advancements, stating, "When the world needs quantum solutions, they will look to Amaravati."
The state government plans to complete the Quantum Valley complex by August 2026, with the installation of a 133-qubit quantum computer scheduled for December 2026. This development is envisioned to parallel the impact of Silicon Valley on the global IT industry.
Leading corporations, including IBM, TCS, and L&T, are collaborating to bring this advanced quantum computer to Amaravati. The facility is set to become a comprehensive center for research, innovation, manufacturing, and skill development across vital fields such as quantum computing, communications, sensors, AI, cybersecurity, defense, healthcare, and finance.
