Salesforce South Asia President and CEO Arundhati Bhattacharya believes that artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in India will proceed smoothly, as citizens are keen to embrace technology that enhances their daily lives. Speaking at the India AI Summit 2026, she highlighted that AI has the potential to solve many problems in a populous nation like India.
Bhattacharya stressed the critical role of policymakers in establishing an ethical framework for AI. This includes ensuring data privacy is protected and that technological solutions are offered responsibly. She noted that companies like Salesforce have a role in skilling the population to understand and effectively utilize AI.
The former SBI Chairman also pointed to the success of financial inclusion programs like PM Jan Dhan Yojana, which leveraged technology such as Aadhaar and UPI. Salesforce actively supports the non-profit sector with access to its products and training, underscoring the importance of skilling for India to fully benefit from technological advancements.
