Summary
- Induction cooktop uses a battery for power boost.
- Can deliver 10,000 watts for rapid heating.
- Designed to look like a DJ console, not a stove.

Impulse Labs has released its $7,000 Impulse Cooktop, a revolutionary induction appliance that made its debut at CES two years ago. This device stands out with its DJ console-inspired design, featuring a space-gray metal frame and unique heating elements.
Utilizing battery technology, the Impulse Cooktop operates on a standard 120-volt outlet, circumventing the costly installation of 240-volt appliances common in older buildings. Its battery system allows for a significant power boost, channeling 10,000 watts to a single element. This rivals the heating capabilities of expensive gas ranges, offering around 34,000 British thermal units of power.
Shipping began in the summer of 2025 and the product has reportedly been sold out since. In spring 2026, the cooktop was tested in a New York facility to assess its performance capabilities.
