19 Feb
Summary
- Refreshed Hyundai Exter spotted testing in India and South Korea.
- Exterior design continuity with minor visual updates expected.
- Interior upgrades may include a larger infotainment screen and new features.

Hyundai Motor India's compact SUV, the Exter, is undergoing a significant facelift. Prototypes have been observed undergoing testing both in India and South Korea, albeit under heavy camouflage. Despite the coverings, certain design elements like the grille and lighting have provided glimpses of continuity with the existing model's appearance. This updated version is anticipated to maintain its familiar silhouette.
The interior is poised for notable upgrades. Speculation points towards a larger infotainment system, potentially a 12-inch display, and improvements to the digital instrument cluster. Furthermore, enhanced comfort features such as ventilated front seats and armrests are being considered to elevate the driving experience for longer journeys.
Safety remains a key focus, with the current Exter already equipped with features like six airbags and ESC. The facelift may introduce additional driver-assistance systems. Mechanically, the familiar 1.2-litre petrol engine is expected to be retained, along with the option of a bi-fuel petrol-CNG variant, ensuring continued powertrain options for consumers.
