HP introduced its latest flagship consumer laptop, the Omnibook Ultra 14, at CES 2026. This device features a remarkably thin design, measuring just 0.42 inches and weighing 2.8 pounds, making it 52% lighter and 5% thinner than a 2025 MacBook Air. Constructed from forged aluminum, it boasts exceptional toughness, having passed 20 military standard durability tests for shock, drops, and extreme temperatures.
Internally, the Omnibook Ultra 14 is equipped with a vibrant 3K OLED display and offers configurations up to 64GB of memory and 2TB of storage. Users can choose between an Intel Core Ultra 3 CPU or a Snapdragon Elite X2 chip. The Snapdragon variant is particularly appealing for AI tasks, featuring an NPU capable of 85 TOPS, supported by a new vapor chamber cooling system for sustained performance.
The laptop includes a comfortable keyboard, a large touchpad, quad speakers, and three USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, USB PD 3.1, and DisplayPort 2.1 support. While lacking an SD card reader, HP emphasizes its portability and ruggedness. The Omnibook Ultra 14 is set to go on sale later this month, with pricing starting at $1,550, positioning it as a premium choice in the 14-inch Windows laptop market.
