Honor has unveiled its "Robot Phone," a device whose primary innovation is a 200-megapixel camera equipped with a retractable gimbal. This gimbal unfolds from the phone's back, offering advanced stabilization for video recording, akin to professional camera accessories. The system is notably compact, with Honor claiming it is 70% smaller than existing gimbal solutions.

The miniaturization of the gimbal was achieved by using specialized, ultra-thin yet durable materials, including steel and titanium alloys borrowed from foldable phone hinges. This allows users to shoot steady video and capture high-quality selfies, consolidating content creation into a single device. While a chatbot feature exists, the focus remains on the camera's capabilities.
