Hohem has unveiled the Eyepic, a device they claim is the world's first "two-in-one pocket gimbal camera." This innovative gadget merges the stability of a gimbal with the portability of a wearable, waterproof camera. Its design allows for a mechanically stabilized camera that can also function as a point-of-view device when detached.
The Eyepic is capable of capturing 4K video at an impressive 60 frames per second, supporting both horizontal and vertical recording by rotating its gimbal head. A notable feature is the magnetically attached camera body, which can be easily removed and reattached. This design aims to provide flexibility for various filming needs.
While an early prototype was shown, image quality remains to be assessed. Hohem anticipates releasing the final product in the first quarter of next year, with an updated version appearing at CES in January. The company hopes to offer a range of mounts for hats, bikes, and other surfaces.
