- A single subscription allows unlimited friend invites.

A new location-sharing application, HeyPolo, has been launched with a strong emphasis on user privacy and consent. Developed by the cybersecurity team behind the popular VPN service Surfshark, HeyPolo aims to offer a privacy-first alternative to conventional tracking apps. The application abandons continuous "always-on" tracking in favor of user-controlled, timed visibility, allowing individuals to specify who sees their location, its accuracy, and the duration of sharing.
This approach directly addresses concerns about "ghost" tracking, where users may forget they are broadcasting their whereabouts. HeyPolo enables users to set specific start and end times for sharing their location, with tracking automatically ceasing once the timer expires. Additionally, users can opt for tiered visibility, sharing a general area rather than an exact pinpoint, or switching to a private mode. The company guarantees it will never sell or monetize user location data, with all data encrypted in transit.
A single subscription to HeyPolo allows for the creation of unlimited groups and the invitation of friends, partners, and family members at no additional cost. The app is now available for download on both the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store.
