Summary
- Hero MotoCorp unveiled the Project VxZ electric motorcycle at EICMA 2025.
- The VxZ is an all-new electric bike, not a Zero Motorcycles rebrand.
- A production-ready version is expected at EICMA 2026.

Hero MotoCorp has officially introduced its Project VxZ electric motorcycle at EICMA 2025 in Milan, Italy, marking a significant entry into the mass-market EV space. This new venture is a result of a collaboration with US-based Zero Motorcycles. The company has since filed a design patent for the VxZ in India, indicating strong intentions for its introduction to domestic markets.
The patent filings confirm that the VxZ is an original design, developed from the ground up, distinguishing it from any existing Zero Motorcycles products. While official launch dates are undisclosed, industry experts predict a production-ready model will debut at EICMA 2026. This timeline would allow Hero MotoCorp sufficient time for refinement and market alignment.
The design patent sketches showcase a sporty, street-oriented motorcycle featuring LED lighting, upside-down front forks, and a rear monoshock. It includes petal disc brakes, a belt drive system, semi-faired styling, and a split-seat configuration. A fully digital instrument cluster is also visible, suggesting support for multiple ride modes. The centrally mounted battery pack is housed within a frame designed for practical, everyday use, with a 17-inch front alloy wheel completing the streetfighter aesthetic.
