Gulikit's Switch 2 Pad: All-Day Comfort, Micro-Sacrifices
7 Feb
Summary
- New Gulikit controllers can wake the Switch 2 from sleep, a rare convenience.
- They use TMR joysticks for durability, unlike older Hall effect technology.
- Controllers offer customization but lack a headphone jack and GameChat button.

Gulikit's TT Pro and TT Max controllers introduce a significant convenience for Switch 2 users by enabling console wake-up from sleep mode, a feature previously exclusive to first-party Nintendo peripherals. This functionality, along with TMR joysticks designed for enhanced resistance to stick drift, positions these controllers as strong contenders in the market. Priced between $70 and $80, they offer extensive customization, including swappable buttons and optional back paddles.
While the TT Pro and TT Max provide a comfortable gaming experience and support for multiple platforms including PC and mobile devices, they do come with minor trade-offs. Notably, they lack a headphone jack and the 'C' button required for Switch 2's GameChat function. The wake-up process, though convenient, is a fraction of a second slower than native controllers, and it requires an extra step to initiate.
The TT Max model offers extended macro recording capabilities (10 minutes) compared to the TT Pro's 10 seconds, a feature primarily beneficial for fighting game enthusiasts. Both controllers utilize magnetic-based TMR joystick technology, a successor to the Hall effect technology Gulikit previously used for original Switch Joy-Con replacements, aiming for superior durability against stick drift.
