GoPro Hero 13 Black: New Lenses Amp Up Action Cam Versatility

GoPro's latest flagship, the Hero 13 Black, refines the action camera experience with a focus on enhanced versatility through new accessories. While not a revolutionary leap from the Hero 12 Black, it introduces a range of lens mods, including Ultra Wide and Macro options, that significantly broaden creative possibilities. These lenses attach easily and are automatically recognized by the camera, unlocking specific features.

The camera also boasts a new magnetic latch mount, providing users with three distinct mounting methods for greater flexibility. Furthermore, the innovative waterproof Contacto accessory offers continuous power via a magnetic connection, even without a battery installed, simplifying extended use. These practical upgrades aim to streamline the shooting experience for all users.

Beyond accessories, the Hero 13 Black features an improved Enduro battery for longer runtimes, enhanced slow-motion capabilities, and hybrid-log gamma HDR video. With its robust stabilization and 5.7K recording, it delivers excellent video quality, although low-light performance remains a limitation. GoPro's subscription service also offers significant savings on the camera and accessories.
