12 Oct
Summary
- Googlebook OS now supports Samsung phones via a recent update.
- Better Together features include Continue On and Notification Sync.
- Requires One UI 9 software and specific Google Play/Cross-Device Services.
Googlebook OS has received an update that enables integration with Samsung phones, fulfilling its intended functionality. Initially missing Better Together connectivity for Samsung devices at launch, the update, announced on Reddit, now allows users with Samsung phones running One UI 9 software to connect. This integration brings features such as Continue On for seamless task transfer and Notification Sync for viewing messages on the laptop.
The update arrived a week after the Googlebook's release. Users who own a Samsung phone should see this update automatically in the coming days, though some have reported it is already available. Essential software requirements include One UI 9, Google Play Services version 26.37, and Cross-Device Services version 1.0.1346 on both devices. Google's release notes also mention a fix for a bug that kept the setup QR code visible post-use, aiming for a smoother first-time setup experience.
