Google Play's AI Boost: Smarter App Discovery

Google Play is introducing several new features, focusing on enhanced app discovery and gaming experiences. The most notable addition is 'Ask Play,' an AI-powered overlay that allows users to find new applications by asking questions in natural language. This expands upon previous Q&A tools, offering a more intuitive way to navigate the storefront. For gamers, the Play Games Sidekick, first launched last year, is receiving an upgrade.

Starting this summer, Play Games Sidekick will be available for all participating games, offering social insights. Users will be able to see which of their friends are playing the same active app and view their unlocked achievements. This move brings Android's gaming platform closer to the social features long available on services like Apple's Game Center.
