Meet Your Phone Now Joins Conference Calls

Summary
- New feature uses ultrasound to detect conference rooms.
- Phones automatically check into meetings via ultrasound.
- Companion mode prevents audio feedback during calls.

Google is expanding its useful conference room detection feature to the Meet and Gmail mobile applications. This technology, first introduced for laptops last year, employs silent ultrasound signals to identify meeting spaces.
Upon entering a conference room, your phone's microphone picks up these signals. This allows the app to automatically check you into the meeting. Subsequently, it will prompt you to join the ongoing Google Meet call using your device in Companion mode.
The primary benefit of this integration is the prevention of common issues like audio feedback, ensuring a smoother and more professional meeting experience for all participants.
