8 May
Summary
- Fitbit app rebranded to Google Health, integrating all features.
- Gemini-powered AI health coach is now Google Health Coach.
- Premium subscription unlocks advanced features for $10/month.

Google is consolidating its health and fitness offerings under a new umbrella: Google Health. The Fitbit app has been officially rebranded as Google Health, now acting as the unified companion app for all Pixel and Fitbit fitness trackers. This transition means users won't need a separate installation; their existing Fitbit app will update automatically.
The Google Health app features a refreshed interface, retaining familiar metrics for activity, sleep, and overall health. A significant upgrade is the Gemini-powered AI health coach, now officially named Google Health Coach. This feature analyzes user goals and health data to provide tailored workout suggestions and proactive insights.
Users can query the coach for personalized advice, such as workout recommendations or responses to feeling tired. The app also allows for the integration of medical history, including medications and allergies, enabling more personalized coaching. Nutrition logging and menstrual cycle tracking are also key components.
Similar to the previous Fitbit model, Google Health will have free and premium tiers. The Google Health Premium subscription, costing $10 per month or $99.99 annually, unlocks advanced features like the AI coach and detailed fitness plans. This subscription will be included for Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers and offered free for three months with the new Fitbit Air device.
