Gemini has brought an AI-powered audio summary feature to Google Docs, a capability previously exclusive to NotebookLM. This new functionality allows documents to be read aloud, generating summaries that can span several minutes and synthesize information from across various tabs.
The rollout of this feature commenced recently and is anticipated to conclude within 15 days. It will be accessible to subscribers of Google AI Pro and Ultra, alongside Google Business and Enterprise customers. Additionally, it will be available as an add-on for Google Education accounts.
Users can access the audio summaries through the 'Tools > Audio' menu within Google Docs. A media player will appear, enabling adjustments to playback speed, ranging from 0.5x to 2x. A selection of voice options, including 'narrator,' 'persuader,' and 'coach,' can also be chosen for the summary readout.
