Google Calendar has introduced a substantial upgrade to its event customization features, now offering users up to 200 distinct colors. This expansion dramatically increases the personalization options, moving beyond the previous limitation of just 11 predefined colors. Users can choose from 24 default shades or utilize a comprehensive RGB color picker for fine-tuned selections.
The enhanced color palette is now accessible via the web and mobile applications, as well as through the Calendar API. This feature began rolling out on June 19, 2026, to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts. Full deployment is expected to take a few weeks.
This update aligns with Google's ongoing efforts to make Calendar more intuitive and helpful. Recent additions include Gemini's "suggested times" feature to find optimal meeting slots and the ability to block out focus time, mirroring meeting displays for dedicated task management.
