Google Calendar Gets a Color Makeover
18 Jun
Summary
- Google Calendar now offers 200 color choices for events.
- Custom color picking is available on the web version.
- The feature is rolling out now and may take weeks to appear.

Google Calendar has dramatically enhanced its event organization capabilities by increasing its color options from 11 to 200. This expansion aims to help users, especially those with busy schedules, visually manage their time more effectively.
Users accessing Google Calendar via the web now have access to a comprehensive RGB color picker, allowing for personalized event hues. However, the mobile application provides a more limited selection of 24 colors without the advanced picking tool. This feature is automatically enabled but can be adjusted by users.
The update is currently in the process of being rolled out and is expected to reach all users over the next few weeks. It is available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and individuals with personal Google accounts. This enhancement follows recent improvements such as task scheduling and AI-powered event time suggestions.
